This weekend the NHCOC website officially launched. For the past several months, Alex and Shawn and I have been writing articles, recording videos, and editing material to include here. For us, the site as you see it has been active for a month or so, but for the rest of you it’s only been a weekend. There’s more to come and there’s a checklist we’re working on concerning things to finish, but in the meantime we hope you enjoy the site and share articles and videos on social media, directing people back here as you do.

The past year has been one for new beginnings at North Heights. In the past 365 days we’ve added two new preachers, redesigned our monthly newsletter, started a great benevolent program, relaunched our website, and more. I believe God’s hand is in everything we do. I believe God is looking over us, looking out for us, and looking down on us with a smile. This is an active and growing congregation, and I hope more and more people in our area learn that and are moved to come be a part of the good work we’re doing.

My God is eternal; He has been around before the beginning began. He is described as an unchanging God…

For I am the LORD, I change not…
(Malachi 3:6a)

Nevertheless, God is a God of new beginnings. He bought us a new hope through Jesus’ death, and brought us a new covenant through Jesus life-again. He housed us in a new Israel in Jesus’ body, and He promises us a renewed body after this one is dead and buried. We’re starting a lot of new things here at NHCOC, and that means we’re bringing a lot of “new” prayers to God’s throne. He’s not overwhelmed by it all, though. He’s listening, He can handle it, and He’s here for us.

New things are His specialty.
