Tho radiant light dispels
for gloom of raining darkness;
Yet Jesus Christ expels
the light of glory’s brightness

Ever shining, eternally bright,
gives light to light the way;
Never dimming, never night,
no clouds will dim my day.

To those of you who prayed for a mostly mild and rainy summer, your prayer was answered with a resounding yes. Sure it’s hot this week, but for the most part it’s been a pleasant few months.

On the other hand, you might be one of those for whom rain clouds bring feelings of sadness and despondency. That’s okay too; it’s okay to feel a little blue every now and then. Never forget that God made the rain and He made the sunshine too.

…Let us now fear the LORD our God, that giveth rain, both the former and the latter, in his season: he reserveth unto us the appointed weeks of the harvest.
(Jeremiah 5:24)

Be thankful for what lies beyond the weather; be thankful that God’s light can penetrate the other kind of rain clouds; the ones that hover over your heart, and be thankful that His Son’s light can brighten even the darkest of days.
