There was a savior one time that came to teach his people. “Who would like to take my yoke and learn from me?” he said.
“Not I,” said the Atheist.
“Not I,” said the Selfish man.
“Not I,” said the Sunday Christian.

Living a life for the Father required perseverance and sacrifice. “Who would like to bear their cross with me?” asked the savior.
“Not I,” said the Atheist.
“Not I,” said the Selfish man.
“Not I,” said the Sunday Christian.

At the end of his teaching, he was led away to be executed. “Who would like to die with me?” he asked.
“Not I,” said the Atheist.
“Not I,” said the Selfish man.
“Not I,” said the Sunday Christian.

Three days later the Savior conquered death and became the first fruits of the resurrection. He said “Who would like to be resurrected with me?”
“I do,” said the Atheist.
“I do,” said the Selfish man.
“I do,” said the Sunday Christian.

“When I taught, you did not want to learn. When endured hardships, you reveled in your comforts. When I died, you didn’t even care,” the Savior said. “Therefore you will not share the fruits of the labor.”

In order to share in the resurrection of Christ, we must share in his life and his death. “I want to know Christ – yes, to know the power of his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead.” (Phil 3:10-11)

Today, die to yourself, be buried in the waters of baptism, and rise to live for Christ. Then you can be assured to share in His resurrection.
