On Sunday morning, when my son, Walter, came forward to obey the gospel by being baptized for the forgiveness of his sins, I mentioned how thankful I am for this church is helping me raise my kids. I asked if you would be willing to continue to help me. I asked if we could continue to raise our kids together. What an amazing thought. It’s not something new. The idea of a community of people helping each other raise kids is as old as the earth God created. The statement, “it takes a village,” is familiar to us. It does take all of us to show our kids what it means to be the people of God. It takes all of us to train them up in the way they should go.

Proverbs 22:6 says,

Train up a child in the way he should go,

Even when he is old he will not depart from it.

  • Together, let’s teach our kids what the Bible says and how to obey God.
  • Together, let’s teach them through example.
  • Together, let’s teach them to work hard.
  • Together, let’s teach them to respect others.
  • Together, let’s teach them to admit when they are wrong.
  • Together, let’s teach them to adapt well and work with others.
  • Together, let’s teach them love and show compassion and forgiveness towards others.
  • Together, let’s teach them to be humble and trust in the Lord.
  • Together, let’s teach them to know and follow Jesus.

Let’s raise our kids together!

God loves you, and so do I,
