This past weekend, the North Heights Youth Group had the incredible opportunity to host and attend our annual Summit Youth Rally 2025, and it was nothing short of transformational.
It was centered around the theme “THE ROCK” (Matthew 7:24-27), and focused on the life-changing teachings of Jesus from the Sermon on the Mount. Through powerful keynotes, breakout sessions, and worship, our teens were challenged to build their lives on the solid foundation of Christ.
Here are a few transformational key points that I jotted down as the weekend progressed, and ones that I knew I needed. Chances are, others needed them too.
-
- Obedience Over Knowledge – It’s not enough to hear Jesus’ words—we must live them.
- Kingdom Character – The beatitudes challenge us to pursue humility, mercy, and righteousness over anything else.
- Love Your Enemies – One of Jesus’ most challenging commands motivates us to offer forgiveness and grace to people who want to see us fail.
- Seek First the Kingdom – It reminds us that God’s peace comes when we trust Him above all else.
- True Discipleship – The rally closed with a powerful message about walking the narrow path and bearing good fruit.
The Impact on NHYG
Summit helped unify our NHYG and sparked a renewed hunger for God’s Word. Many teens shared that the weekend helped them reset, refocus, and take their faith more seriously. I expect the energy and more meaningful conversations with our teens will continue in the future.
We’re so thankful for everyone who made Summit possible and for the spiritual growth it brought to our youth. I sincerely appreciate all the help from NHCOC in pulling this off.
Our NHYG is committed to continuing what was started at Summit this year and building our lives on the ROCK of Jesus’ words.
Now, on to next year. Let the planning begin!
In Christ,
Alex Mills
