“Hello Nancy how’s your day,”
I ask and smile at her.
“Pitiful, worse than yesterday!”
She frowns and grips her purse.
Negative Nancy wears a frown,
like a queen who wears a crown,
she’s never joyful, she’s always down,
only happy when others frown.
How hard is life that you must gripe?
How put out can you be?
You never smile, you never sing,
You’re like a cat stuck up a tree.
Maybe next time someone asks
about your day you might reply:
“My day’s wonderful, and since you asked,
My Lord’s the reason why!”
I’m not saying you don’t have
your problems here and there.
I’m only saying you also have
A Lord who wants your cares.
So find a reason to wear a smile
because one day you will die.
And if you think you won’t smile in Heaven
well…I dare you not to try!
