Proverbs 16:9  – “A person’s heart plans his way, but the Lord determines his steps.”

If you’re anything like me, you like to plan things out. There’s a certain peace that comes from having everything mapped – travel, work, relationships, ministry, family. You line it all up, thinking you know exactly how it’ll go. But then… life happens. Plans shift. Doors close. Detours appear.

What if those unexpected turns aren’t interruptions at all, but invitations? What if God redirects you, not to punish you, but to prepare you for something greater?

It’s hard to lose control, but sometimes that’s exactly what we need to do, let go and let God lead. Trusting Him doesn’t mean everything will go smoothly. It means showing up anyway. It means serving, believing, and staying faithful even when the path ahead is foggy.

So when your plans change, don’t panic. Don’t get bitter. Roll with it. God is still at work in your story. He’s faithful in the detours, and He’ll use you right where you are.

Trust Him and keep doing His work anyway.

Blessings,
Alex Mills

P.S. Please keep us in your prayers. Lord willing, Kira and I leave for Cambodia on Saturday for a two-week mission trip. I’ll be teaching 1 & 2 Peter at the Cambodian Bible Institute, and together we’ll lead our “To Have & To Hold” marriage workshop. With the government shutdown causing travel uncertainty, we’re praying for smooth flights and steady hearts as we serve the Lord, no matter what happens.
