Yesterday, we here at North Heights hosted our community to a hot meal, distributed bags of groceries, and opened our clothing closet up to those in need. Several of our members were here to help cook, organize, or just sit and talk with folks who needed a helping hand.

We’re blessed here at NHCOC and we would be wasting the blessing given to us if we didn’t reach out to the world around us. That’s why I told the visitors last night “thank you for letting us serve you.” A few looked at me strangely when I said it but it’s absolutely a true statement: Our Master calls on us to serve…

And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
(Matthew 25:40)

I’m thankful to everyone who joined us from the community last night; it was my pleasure to help, certainly, but it was also my duty, and I’m glad they gave me a chance to obey my Master’s command.
