I hate to be away from our VBS tonight, but I’m speaking at the Mars Hill congregation in Vilonia this evening, so I’m currently in Conway. I look forward to being back tomorrow and I know we’ll have a great turnout tonight. We had a little over 400 on Sunday and about 400 again last night. I don’t know if we have ever had 400 back-to-back nights; that’s amazing!
As I say, I’m in Conway right now, and I actually just left the maternity ward, visiting the brand new Hattie Morgan Myers, the daughter of Noah and Suzie Myers. I’ve known Noah since he was a child and I’ve watched him grow, first into a godly young man, and then into a terrific and godly husband. Now, as of yesterday, he’s a dad, and with his wonderful wife at his side, they’re beginning the parenthood journey, and I have no doubt they will be amazing, godly parents. Still, they need prayers, as all new parents do. Lift them up today.
I told Noah before I left the hospital this morning that children are everything God wants us to be. Babies are perfect, gentle, full of love, craving love, and utterly dependent on the one(s) who made us. I took one look at Hattie, with her head full of hair and her quivering lip, and I fell in love instantly, and she’s not even mine. She’s just my goddaughter (if we were Italian). I can’t imagine how much her parents’ hearts are bursting.
Being a parent is a blessing that lasts forever, because that’s how long we get to be parents: Forever.

PS: here I am whispering a secret to her…

here she is telling me a secret…

and here she is just sleeping soundly…

Alright that’s all.
