Have you read Psalm 33:12? It says, “Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD”. Well, actually, it says, “Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people He has chosen for His own inheritance.”

As David put those words down, he comments during a time his nation was at the zenith of his reign. He was the king of a nation whose hearts and souls were committed and devoted to God. Today, I don’t believe there is a nation on earth that can make this statement, including the USA! The earth collectively has turned away from God and His word as the standard for law and moral conduct. People have turned to a season of sin and rebellion against God. And maybe that is why we are not happy and blessed.

One application from this we can make for ourselves today is this. The church is the people He has chosen for His own inheritance. So don’t worry so much about nations, allegiances, flags, monuments, laws, and leaders. It’s effortless right now to get distracted by the turmoil around us. God’s people need to concentrate on being God’s people. Life is more simple than we are making it out to be. We need to focus on being people whose God is the Lord. These are the people He has chosen to be happy and blessed.

I choose to align myself with the nation of God over any other nation. Will you make that choice too?

I choose to belong to God. Will you make that choice too?

I choose to be happy and blessed. Will you make that choice too?

You see, the point is… if I make these choices, God chooses me? When God chooses me, I will be even more happy and blessed.

We want to be happy and blessed, right?

I love you,

Alexander
