It’s no doubt that this time of year is fun, exciting, and cheery. We all know the best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear. However, some people, even among us (especially among us) are having a hard time feeling like singing. Sometimes, while some are able to enjoy a Christmas of white, there are still some that are having a blue, blue, blue, blue Christmas. Decorations of red on a green Christmas tree are just not the same as it once was.
This Sunday at NHCOC we will lean into that thought and see how we can biblically embrace having a blue Christmas in this most wonderful/difficult time of the year. I pray that this encourages us who are feeling anxiety, depression, and loneliness this time of year. Maybe this will make the season merry and bright after all.
Just remember what Peter says: “Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time, casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.” – 1 Peter 5:6-7
I love you.
