You probably already know this, but it’s worth a reminder. Most people are going through something hard. Everyone carries struggles you may never see. That’s why we need to choose kindness and compassion over judgment and criticism.
Jesus said it best: “Do not judge so that you will not be judged. For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you.
Why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye but do not notice the log in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ and behold, the log is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.”(Matthew 7:1–5)
Instead of pointing fingers or criticizing, let’s help one another through our struggles. Paul reminded the Galatians: “Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted. Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” (Galatians 6:1–2)
Fulfilling the law of Christ isn’t just about showing up for worship, attending Bible class, or checking things off a spiritual to-do list. It’s about how we treat people. It’s about gentleness, patience, and walking alongside each other when life is heavy.
Let’s be the kind of family that lifts each other up and helps carry those burdens.
Blessings!
