This will be my final Daily Bread. I am thankful for the opportunity to have led you in some devotional thoughts to hopefully draw your mind toward Christ each middle-of-the-week. Looking back, I have written approximately 250 articles for Daily Breads. So in closing, I’d like to recap some of the main points from some of devotional thoughts. These are in no particular order.
  1. A ‘small’ bit of sin can do a lot of damage over time if not checked – from ‘The Journey.’
  2. Being resurrected with Christ first requires learning from Christ, enduring hardships with Christ, and dying with Christ. “Not I,” said the Sunday Christian – from ‘Who Will Share with Me?’
  3. We think Satan attacks us like Emperor Palpatine shooting lighting out of his hands. But really the attack happens with a casual, seemingly innocent conversation – from ‘A Star Wars Daily Bread.’
  4. The way to joy is by focusing on the blessings that are ahead rather than the hardships of the present – from ‘Focus.’
  5. Do we treat sin like we treat asbestos or black mold? – from ‘Known to Cause Cancer.’
  6. A good way to measure how much you are in your Bible is by how much you quote it, kind of like how you quote movies that you’ve seen a bunch – from ‘Speaking Bible.’
  7. You can’t pass on what you don’t have (speaking of faith) – from ‘Pass it on.’
  8. Our sin can seem bigger than God when we move further away from Him – from ‘Perspective.’
  9. Monkeys get caught when they won’t let go of something. What are you not letting go of? – from ‘What’s in the Jar?’
  10. In order to have Godly perspective, we must see the world through the lens of God’s commandments, but simultaneously through the lens of His grace. – from ‘The Two Lenses.’
  11. Don’t just be a Christian, be in Christ – from ‘In Christ.’
  12. Actual Bible study involves reading, rereading, and rereading smaller chunks of Scripture – from ‘Rereading.’
  13. We are incapable of defeating Satan. But God already has. Therefore we must use the Word of God to fight our battles – from ‘This is How I Fight My Battles.’
  14. We may think that we are listening to God, but if we are acting like the world, we are listening to something else – from ‘Voices.’

Thank you for letting me spend a little bit of time with you each Wednesday and may you continue to draw closer to God through His Word.
