Socially, I would like to think that I am an independent person. I am so thankful for the liberty and freedom I enjoy in this country and I hope to keep enjoying this independence for as long as I live. I am thankful for and celebrate Independence Day every year. It’s one of my most favorite holidays. Tomorrow I will fly “Old Glory” in my yard with great appreciation for the sacrifice others have made for me to be able to enjoy these freedoms.
Spiritually, I realize that I am a dependent person. I am so thankful for the guidance, direction, and boundaries God has provided to keep me safe and I hope that I keep enjoying this security for all of eternity. I am thankful for and celebrate the help God gives me every day. It is one of my most favorite blessings in Christ. Every day, I will attempt to adjust my heart to be more dependent on the sacrifice Jesus gave for me to be able to enjoy this dependence on God.
Psalm 121
I will lift up my eyes to the mountains;
From where shall my help come?
My help comes from the Lord,
Who made heaven and earth.
He will not allow your foot to slip;
He who keeps you will not slumber.
Behold, He who keeps Israel
Will neither slumber nor sleep.
The Lord is your keeper;
The Lord is your shade on your right hand.
The sun will not smite you by day,
Nor the moon by night.
The Lord will protect you from all evil;
He will keep your soul.
The Lord will guard your going out and your coming in
From this time forth and forever.
I love you,
~Alexander
