So, were you like me yesterday? I heard about the incoming ice storm and started preparing for a power outage. I got out the generator, made sure our back up phone chargers were full, made a plan for how to keep the house warm – basically prepared to go on an arctic expedition for the next 8 months. I knew, I KNEW, that when I went to bed last night, I was going to wake up to a house without power this morning. Fortunately, the lights are still on and the heater is still running. But I was prepared for the next Ice Age.

Do you believe that the Son of God is coming back? You can tell what you believe by what you are doing now. Are you preparing for His return? Are you trying desperately to get your spiritual life in order? Are you telling others about what’s coming? Or are you living in a way that says “Oh, this storm is probably going to amount to nothing.”

I am thankful that my power is still on this morning. But I slept peacefully last night knowing that I was prepared it the outage happened. And even though the power is still on right, it won’t be forever.

Matt 24:44 – So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.
