This week, several people have shared with me the difficult challenges they are facing. I’ve heard different stories, but a common theme has emerged—confronting the reality of evil in the world. Violence, corruption, and injustice can feel overwhelming, leaving us afraid, frustrated, and sometimes even hopeless.
I don’t want this to sound cliché, but truth remains truth. When you face evil, remember:
- God gives us strength and hope. – “But those who trust in the Lord will renew their strength; they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not become weary, they will walk and not faint.” – Isaiah 40:31
- God will judge righteously. – “Friends, do not avenge yourselves; instead, leave room for God’s wrath, because it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.” – Romans 12:19
- God is with you; You are never alone. – “Be strong and courageous; don’t be terrified or afraid of them. For the Lord your God is the one who will go with you; he will not leave you or abandon you.” – Deuteronomy 31:6
When facing evil, pray for strength and wisdom. Trust in God’s justice—you don’t have to carry the weight of the world. You are not the manager of the universe. Instead, combat darkness by spreading goodness and grace. Keep an eternal perspective, knowing that God will make all things right in the end.
Life is hard, and the devil seeks to derail you with deception. Don’t give in. Stay strong in the Lord.
Meditate on this: Ephesians 6:10-17 – Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. Stand firm therefore, HAVING GIRDED YOUR LOINS WITH TRUTH, and HAVING PUT ON THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, and having shod YOUR FEET WITH THE PREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE; in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. And take THE HELMET OF SALVATION, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
In Christ alone,
