I am very excited about this coming Sunday at North Heights to be able to introduce a new sermon series that will be spread throughout 2021 by Matthew and I. The idea is simple… love your neighbor requires getting to know them. It’s important to know their names, know their interest, know their struggles, and know how to respond as neighbors should. In relatively the same way, we think it’s important to get to know your apostles. We’re gonna get our learn on because:

Knowledge is Key

Biblical knowledge is the key to eternity. The Apostle Peter opens his second letter with these words, “Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord” (2 Peter 1:2). Simon Peter hopes his readers will increase in their knowledge about God and the Lord Jesus. With that in mind, we hope to increase our knowledge about the apostles this year. The added benefit is that we will more than likely also increase in our knowledge about Jesus! I’m thankful for Peter’s encouraging words and believe it is very appropriate to have Peter be the first apostle we get to know. After all he’s always the first on every list.

So, let’s stick out our hands, meet and greet Simon Peter, and get to know this apostle a little better. Who knows you might learn something about yourself too! Join us at North Heights Church of Christ this Sunday!
