In July our NHYG will be traveling to Houston, TX to participate in the Impact Houston Mission VBS (here is more information on what we will be doing). Right now there are a total of 18 teenagers going on this trip. We are excited about the IMPACT this is going to have on the kids we will minister to and also the IMPACT it will have on us as a group. Each teen is commission to raise $300 for this trip which will cover all their expenses. That is where you come in. We need your generous hearts. We need you to pray for our efforts and encourage our group as we make preparations. We also need your help financially to send us. We are willing and ready to go but we need your help. 

People have already been so generous in helping us already. But there is much more to do. ON May 25th we will have a car wash fundraiser here at NHCOC and would love to get your ride shining as a service for your financial support. Plan on bringing your car or truck up to NHCOC on this Sunday afternoon and reach down deep in your pocket to make a donation to our efforts for this mission trip. We appreciate you so much. 

Consider 2 Corinthians 9 as a powerful passage to motivate you to be generous in your giving to this cause. In the context Paul is writing about how he is collecting a contribution for the poor Christians in Jerusalem .He begins by reminding the Corinthians they had previously expressed a great eagerness to give and how now is the time to follow through. Paul says that he is sending others ahead to prepare the gift so that it will be ready and given in a willing manner and not under any pressure. His point is that God does not want a gift that is grudgingly given. He wants generosity that comes from the heart. The attitude behind your giving matters more than the amount. God loves a cheerful giver (2 Corinthians 9:7). God blesses us so that we can be a blessing to others. Generosity is part of God’s plan for our lives. When we give to others it glorifies God and brings us closer to each other and closer to God. It is genuine and authentic.
