A few days ago Kira and I left for Galveston, TX to board a cruise ship and attend a marriage seminar at sea hosted by Trey and Lea Morgan and Wayne and Tami Roberts. I’ll give you more details later about what Kira learned and how she’s gonna be a better wife… For now I want to talk about something different.

While we were sailing in the gulf of Mexico I was amazed with the size ship we were on. I’m always in awe with the size of man made things anyway. Stadiums, arenas, buildings like, the Dwight D. Eisenhower Executive office Building in Washington DC always impresses me. The cruise ship we were on was no exception. However, as big as it was the waves and wind on the ocean water still rocks the boat and we could certainly feel it. Even now the feeling of being on a moving vessel is in our heads. One thought kept coming to my mind while were were there strengthening our marriages and soaking up the warmer weather. God is BIGGER than the ocean.

As powerful and large the boat is and as powerful and large the ocean is… God is BIGGER and more POWERFUL. When we look at awesome man made structures and engineering, or even when we look at awesome God created monstrosities in creation we need to be reminded that God is BIGGER. Yet, He loves you and I. Yet, He gave His Son as a payment for our sins. Yet, He saves us and adds us to the church. Yet, He has a place prepared for us for all of eternity. It reminds me of Psalm 8… look it up and read it in it’s entirety. For now here is a sample with my own added thoughts.

When I look at the ocean and feel the power of Your winds…

What is man that You take thought of him?

~ Psalm 8:4a

I love you,

Alex
