This Sunday, I am preaching about the apostle Judas. We are at the tail end of our sermon series that we have been sprinkling throughout the year titled “Get to Know Your Apostles.” It has been so rewarding to take the time to study each one and see the lessons we can gain for our own spiritual life from their lives. We have seen some that have pretty severe character flaws, yet the Lord still used them to carry out His ministry and the establishment of the church. We have seen some who have demonstrated extraordinary acts of faith and trust and have done amazing things and preached highly effective sermons to further the Kingdom of God. I hope you will join us on Sunday as we consider the man Judas and the opportunities he had and the life that he wasted. The reality is that we are sometimes just like Judas, seeking to gain clout for ourselves and place our desires above the Lord.

If there is one thing that I want us to learn this Sunday, it is this:
DON’T WASTE THE OPPORTUNITY TO CARRY OUT THE LORD’S MISSION.
I know Judas has his place in history, and someone was going to betray him. Right now, the point is that you have the opportunity to make sure that it is NOT YOU. Make sure that it is NEVER YOU.

I love you, and I want to encourage you. Read John 12:1-8 in preparation for this Sunday’s sermon at NHCOC and be thinking about how you can use every moment, not for your gain but the Lord.

Have a great weekend!
