Today’s daily devotional is brought to you by Ted Knight, who shared this simple thought on Facebook the other day…
Jesus, His kingdom and His righteousness, FIRST. (Matt. 6:33). Exceptions? None, if you are accountable to God. Before job? Yes! Before pleasure? Absolutely! Before family gatherings? Yes! Before recreational affairs? Yes! There is just no explaining it away and excuses will not suffice. One MUST deny self, take up his cross, and follow Jesus. (Matt. 16:24). Life is good when Jesus is FIRST. Why live with a question mark hanging over us? Respect the correct order of Jesus in life and live with assurance.
What else needs to be said? Nothing, but if I could add one minor thought, it would be this:
Too many (myself included) struggle with seeing Christianity as PART of their life, and not, as Christ intended, the life through which everything else happens.
Let’s work on that together.
