This Friday night two of our area schools will be competing in a football game. The Southside Southerners will host the Batesville Pioneers in a competition that creates community camaraderie. What a blessing to live in an area that embraces such concepts. No matter the outcome of the game the big event in my mind is the after party here at NHCOC. 

We will host the first Battle of the Bridge 5th Quarter right after the game here at the NHYG Youth Center. We will be serving BBQ nachos, snacks, and drinks for everyone who attends. We will have games, prizes, giveaways and more. We plan on giving away two bibles, t-shirts and others fun stuff. ALL TEENS IN OUR AREA ARE INVITED even if they do not attend the game, or even if they do not attend these two schools. Cavemen, Timberwolves, Mustangs, Pioneers, and Southerners are all invited!

Here are three reasons we want to host the Battle of the Bridge 5th Quarter and open our facilities for teens in our area: 

  1. We want to provide a positive social environment that is safe and supportive. We want to encourage teens to enjoy the fellowship, make friends, and build relationship with like-minded peers. 
  2. We want to encourage spiritual growth. This events can offer an opportunity for teens to reflect not heir faith, share experiences, and receive spiritual encouragement. We will be giving a message from the Word of God and we hope that it will help teens understand the gospel of Jesus and act upon what they believe. We hope to provide guidance, and help in their relationship with God as they navigate the challenges they face. 
  3. We want to help mentor and guide teenagers to make good decisions in their lives. The event allows adults and mentors an opportunity to interact with teens who care about their spiritual lives. We hope when they leave they think that the people at NHCOC and the NHYG cares about them and hopefully they want to come back for Bible classes, worship and other events we host. 

The Battle of the Bridge is an outreach opportunity for our church and I am sure that it will be a success all to the glory of God. Help us by spreading the word.

If you are looking for a way to help let me know. We have plenty of tasks that need to be done in preparation for the event. If you want to come hangout with a few teens after the game then come on. Its a great opportunity for evangelism. Let’s make an impact for Jesus.
