A few days ago I asked our church family to pray for the young people from the NHYG who are attending Uplift at Harding University this week. Obviously, you have been praying for them because I am a witness to their spiritual growth. I have seen their dedication to the Lord become even more committed with each passing day. They are a group that loves each other and loves the Lord. They genuinely care about each other. They help one another, serve each other and worship and praise together. They are a united group. One like I have never seen before.

On Tuesday night in true Uplift tradition all 1,000+ Uplift students including our NHYG gathered in the rotunda on the floor, stairs, and on the ledges of the Jim Bill McInteer Bible Building on the Campus of HU. Side note: Jim Bill McInteer was an amazing preacher of the gospel. He was known to have never repeated a sermon in the years he worked in Nashville as the preacher for the West End church in Nashville, TN. I met brother, McInteer when I was a student in the Harding School of Biblical Studies (2001-2004). I am sure the praising in song heard in the building named after him could be heard in heaven that night.

There was one moment Tuesday evening as we sang that I must tell you about…

As the 1000+ students sang “A Common Love” and our 15 from NHCOC stood together with their arms around each other I snapped the picture you see and prayed over each child by name and for our group as a whole for unity, love, service, and dedication to be amplified in our church and in our youth group. Even for the ones not with us at Uplift. It was a powerful moment for me and one that I will cherish for a long time.

Will you join me in that prayer? Pray and lift up the NHYG at Uplift as we finish up this week.

Pray for the remainder of our summer together and pray that much good can be done to the glory of God. Pray for the NHYG as we look for ways to serve and bring others to Christ. Help us to be evangelistic, benevolent and radically committed to following Jesus. Pray as I lead them. Pray for my energy. Pray for the parents, and siblings. Pray that God will use us as a way to win souls to Him. May God continue to lift up the NHYG as we strive to lift Him up to His glory!

For the Lord,
