To say the least, there was much consternation and disappointment being had over our 2023 Family Day last year. Our Sunday attendance was the lowest it had been, not counting the Covid year, in a very long time (maybe ever). We made it a priority to talk about the 2024 celebration throughout the remainder of 2023 and the first half of 2024, in the hopes of us getting the kind of turnout we used to get. I’ll admit, a part of me worried about what our Sunday crowd might look like this year.
Instead, we hosted well over 500 people, many of whom stayed and enjoyed a great meal after worship. The day was great, as was the weekend seminar preceding it. Bob Turner presented tremendous material that challenged us, motivated us, and made us excited about the work we will be doing in Batesville in the near future.
Thank you to everyone who came, to everyone who brought visitors with you, and to everyone who worked to make the weekend the great success it was.
Now we turn the page. Now we set our sights, God willing, on 2025. Now we mark our calendars for next year’s Family Day. Make plans now to be here September 26-28, Friday-Sunday, for a weekend Gospel Meeting, hosted by Barry Grider.
This will not be a seminar. This will not be a workshop. This will be an old fashioned series of Gospel sermons presented by one of the most effective pulpit preachers working in the Kingdom today. I’m so excited about it, but I’ll say more about it later. In the meantime, carve out Friday night, Saturday night, and Sunday morning, the last weekend of September, and be here to be blessed.
Until then, our doors are open NOW. We’ll see you Wednesday night at 630pm for Bible Class, and this coming Sunday morning for worship!
