There’s always a song in my head, which usually means it’s in my voice, which usually means it’s in your ears, which usually means it’s in your head, too. Sorry about that. But not really.

Sometimes this song might be one that Elvis sang, or it could be from the Beatles, Eagles, Rolling Stones, Tom Petty or from a 90s grunge band. But most times it’s a spiritual song like this one that has been on my mind since last night. *

Oh I was made for this, to know Your tender kiss

To know a love divine, to know this love is mine

And I was made to laugh, and I was made to sing

Given the gift of life, You gave everything

My feet were made to dance, my spirit made to soar

My life is not by chance, You give me more and more

For I was made for You and I have made my choice

And all that stole my joy, I left it at the cross

So I will celebrate and drink Your cup of joy

I will give thanks each day and sing

My joy is found in You, and You are all my joy

Oh I was made for this

When I was far away, You ran to welcome me

I felt Your warm embrace, I saw Your smiling face

And when You rescued me I saw my destiny

To worship You, my Lord, to be a friend of God

So I will celebrate and drink Your cup of joy

I will give thanks each day and sing

My joy is found in You, and You are all my joy

Oh I was made for this

I was made to love You, Jesus

I was made for this

So I will celebrate and drink Your cup of joy

I will give thanks each day and sing

My joy is found in You, and You are all my joy

Oh I was made for this

The Scriptures make it is completely clear the God created man to PRAISE and HONOR Him!

I think we understand this but I believe that we struggle with grasping what it looks like. Here is a quick, and high-level view of what it means to glorify God:

    1. Acknowledge Him as your CREATORPsalm 100:3“Know that the Lord Himself is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.
    1. Live faithfully in His SERVICE1 Samuel 12:24“Only fear the Lord and serve Him faithfully with all your heart. For consider what great things He has done for you.”
    1. Show respect to Him with your OBEDIENCEEcclesiastes 12:13 – “The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.

Oh, WE were made for this!

I love you,

Alexander

* I hoped to be able to provide a link on YouTube of a recording of this song so that you could hear the tune but… I could not locate one. I might be so compelled to just record one myself and provide the link for you then. Sorry in advance. But not really.
