Life is hard.” we sometimes hear.

“I hate my life!” a child declares.

We tell our kids when trials arise, “Life isn’t fair” much to their surprise.

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

Genesis 1:27

And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Genesis 2:7

While our time on earth is sometimes filled with hardships, it is still a life given to us by God. We must remember that we were made in the image of God. We were given life in order to serve Him, and it’s hard to serve when we’re wasting time complaining. It’s impossible to serve when we’re sitting on our hands, worried about what new problem might be around the corner. How we use our lives, regardless of our circumstances, will determine where we will reside for all eternity. We were formed from dust but only our physical bodies will return to the earth. Our living soul will one day appear before its Maker to be judged, and judgment will be rendered in part based on how we used the life God breathed into us.

We complain about the cold weather, wishing for the niceness of Spring. Then it rains in April and we long for the sunshine of Summer. Then we get sunburned and just wonder when the cool air is going to get here already! Why not just enjoy what you have as you get it? Life is a blessing and though it is filled with much evil, God still made this world for us.

So enjoy the days you have left on earth, however many they may be; don’t waste them. And certainly don’t ruin your life by indulging in sin.
