All of us have a God-given longing for something greater than ourselves. It is a trait unique to people; animals may go off hunting and exploring but they work on instinct. With people, we have this conscience desire to know what is beyond the horizon. We know we have it yet we can not ignore it. It is what motivated men in history to explore continents on foot, sail the oceans in ships and later to traverse the stars by rocket. We have this innate need to “know.”
The thing of it is, no matter how much of this physical world (or universe) we discover, that thirst to explore does not go away. It never will go away. And while atheistic scientists love that, they miss the point of it. They will never be content because the limits to their exploration are the elements of this present, physical existence.
Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
