I know that life is full of troubles, and the weight of the world seems to be on your shoulders at times. I feel it. I have days when I have no clue how to get all the work that needs to be done, done. I have days that I don’t know what to say to someone who is hurting and suffering from pain, loss, grief, and heartache. Most times, I don’t say anything at all. I just sit and listen and be present. I know you are hurting and that there are so many stresses that you are dealing with right now that the end seems too far away.

But, with all that being said… In our church family these past few days, I have been very encouraged. I have felt on top of the world as if nothing is standing in our way. Our attendance for worship, Bible classes, LIFEGroups, and really all the “things” we do has been up. Attendance is not everything, but it is an encouraging factor in being with people you love and worship with. Our level of care and concern has been up. I think we have always looked out for each other, but over the last few days, I have felt that we have really gone out of our way to make sure everyone feels a sense of awe among us.

Our church family is not like every other church family. We are special. You are unique, and I am thankful to be part of you. I hope you feel the same way. Let’s get to work inviting other people into this loving church family. Let’s get to work encouraging and bringing more and more into the fold of a church family that wants to be together and wants to encourage each other. Let’s all work to get on top of the world and praise the God we worship while we are up there.

This feeling reminds me of the church in the beginning. Read Acts 2:43-47 and see if you see the North Heights Church of Christ in this passage:

Everyone kept feeling a sense of awe; and many wonders and signs were taking place through the apostles. And all those who had believed were together and had all things in common; and they began selling their property and possessions and were sharing them with all, as anyone might have need. Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord was adding to their number day by day those who were being saved.

I know I do. I see NHCOC.

I love you,

Alex
