Did you start today off with a prayer? Did you pray while you were getting dressed and having breakfast? How about during your drive to work? Will you talk to Him throughout the day? Before making a decision, will you pray to the Father?

Oft times, our prayer life gets squeezed out of the picture as other demands of life work their way in. We don’t mean to. We don’t intentionally decide to pray less. We just let our focus shift from things above to things fighting for out attention. But a busy schedule is no reason to pray less. In fact it is the reason to pray more.

Martin Luther was once recorded as saying “Work, work from early till late. In fact I have so much to do that I shall spend the first three hours in prayer.”

Jesus set the example for us. Before choosing the disciples, before feeding the 5000, before raising Lazarus, before being arrested, and countless other times, Jesus prayed. And if he spent so much time in prayer, how much more should we be on our knees.

“And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests…” (Ephesians 6:18)

Take a few minutes right now and go to God in prayer.
