Jesus said it best in Matthew 7:12,  “In everything, therefore, treat people the same way you want them to treat you, for this is the Law and the Prophets.” Put it simply its this: Be good to people.

Paul says, “Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary.” (Galatians 6:9). Decide in advance that you are going to be someone who will be good to others so that when the opportunity comes up you don’t have to decide in the moment and risk making the wrong choice. You have already made the decision to be good and care for others. Paul goes on to say, “So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith” (Galatians 6:10).

We need to be on the lookout for opportunities to be good to others. Don’t just sit back and wait for the opportunities to present themselves. Be someone that is seeking moments that you can show you care for someone else. Paul teaches that this kind of care needs to be especially available to those who are “of the household of faith”. We should be on the lookout for opportunities that we can especially be good to people who are like-minded in Christianity. Not that we don’t want to, not that we won’t help or be good to others but most certainly we will be looking for opportunities to be good to people who love Jesus like we love Jesus. They get preferential treatment. It’s family taking care of family.

Who knows? Someone might see the way we take of each other and want to be in this family, too.

I love you. See ya Sunday!
