Qapla’!

Yesterday afternoon, Don Gregory and I were texting back and forth and talking about how much we love the North Heights church. We talked about how when we go visit other congregations we really are reminded how much we love our own church family. That is a good feeling. You should all feel blessed Don feels this way about you (Really, all of our shepherds do).

We were also talking about some of the details about the picnic. And since we are both Trekkies Don send me a GIF of Worf (one of the characters on TNG and DS9) nodding his head in agreement and smiling which Worf rarely did. I sent Don the word, “Qapla’!” The word “Qapla’!” is the Klingon word for “Success!” Don responded with “There is much honor to be found at church picnics”. A quote that Worf would have said had he been at our picnic last night.

I don’t know about you, but I had a great time. We had 204 precious people that I love and call my friends all together for fun, food, and fellowship. We sang, we prayed, we had a devotional thought about “friendship”, we ate together, and played together. It was wonderful.

I am so thankful to all the people that helped put it all together and for their dedicated hard work to make it a “Qapla’!. There IS much honor to be found at church picnics! The reason is simple. God’s people being together is success!
