Three characteristics describe the one true God. These are: God is Omnipresent, God is Omnipotent, and God is Omniscient.

To be omnipresent means that God has no limit on where and when He is. David says, “If I ascend to heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, You are there” (Psalm 139:8). time and space do not limit God. “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” (Revelation 1:8). God is everywhere.

To be omnipotent means that God has no limit on what He does. Job says, “I know that You can do all things, And that no purpose of Yours can be thwarted” (Job 42:2). Nothing stands in the way of God. “For nothing will be impossible with God” (Luke 1:37). God is all-powerful.

To be omniscient means that God has no limit on what He knows. Paul says, “Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways!” (Romans 11:33). God knows everything about everything and can calculate the most challenging problems and situations precisely down to the details. God knows everything about all things.

Let’s investigate the last one in more detail concerning what God knows about who will be saved.

Since God is God and knows all things, the question comes if God knows who will be saved. I believe He does. I believe God has given us free choice to make decisions about our lives and even our choice about Him. I believe God knows what choices we will make and whether we are dedicated to Him. I believe that as much as God knows the number of hairs on my head (Luke 12:7), He knows what I will choose to do with my life. I believe that God knows if I will be faithful unto death (Revelation 2:10) or if I will be lost in a lake of fire (Revelation 21:8). I believe He knows the same about you, too. I would even go as far as to say that God knows who are faithful to Jesus and are faithfully remaining part of the church. God knows who the sheep and goats are and how to separate them. So, in the future, when making that distinction, I don’t see God having difficulty knowing who is who. God knows who will be saved.

As believing followers of Jesus, we are God’s elect, which means we are chosen by God. God has chosen the church, and we have to choose to be part of it. When we have made that choice, God knows it and will save those in it. God is fair, and He loves all people. He wants everyone to choose Him, but He also knows those who have not chosen Him and will never choose Him.

God is perfect, and His ways are perfect. If you have chosen Jesus as your Lord and have had your sins washed away by His blood, then you are chosen by God and will be saved by the grace of God.

Yes, God knows everything about everything and even knows who will be saved by choosing Jesus, His Son, as their Savior.

“And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren; and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified” (Romans 8:28-30).

God loves you and so do I,
