I’m not sure if you know this but, “love your neighbor” is our theme this year. How’s that going for you? Have you been challenged? Have you had opportunities to demonstrate that love? I hope so, and I pray more opportunities will come.
One of the ways we show love to our neighbors is by talking to them about the gospel. That conversation does not always come easy. There are barriers that stand in the way that we must overcome. One of those barriers is the reality that we are not all the same. We have a variety of differences between our neighbors and us. These differences can hinder us from being as vocal as we need and should be. Or even as effective with the gospel as we need to be.
Throughout this year, I am very excited to preach a few sermons that hopefully will encourage us to be evangelistic towards our neighbors, even if they are different than us. These differences can be as specific as spiritual, theological, economic, or racial differences or as broad as the differences in how we view the world. Whatever the differences, we will discover how we are to still love our neighbors and tell them the story of Jesus. This Sunday we will begin with something spiritual. We will explore how to talk to my neighbor who sins differently than me.
Come worship with us!
I love you,
~ Alex
