Today’s thought is only applicable for the Northern hemisphere. If you live South of the equator, this thought is not for you, but have a Merry Christmas all the same!

Yesterday was the winter solstice: the shortest day of the year (based on time of sunlight hours). Do you know what that means? There is going to be just a little bit more sunshine today than there was yesterday.

How fitting is it, then, that we celebrate the birth of Christ right at the time of year when our lives starting getting a little more sunshine each day? Christ brings hope. That doesn’t mean that there will not be any trials or difficulties. But with Christ in our lives, our outlook is brighter. Each day there is hope. Sin and darkness have been defeated. Praise God for providing the Son!!

May God shine His light in your life more and more each day!

Merry Christmas!
