The picture you see is us, Alex and Kira Mills. We are smiling, and yes, we love each other deeply. But we also want to be honest. Marriage is hard work. No marriage is perfect, and a strong marriage does not mean a challenge-free marriage. What makes a marriage successful is not the absence of problems, but the willingness to face them together and keep working toward something better.
For more than 20 years, we have been actively working on our own marriage with the help of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We have learned from strong, healthy marriages around us, and we have also paid attention to why other marriages struggle. We are not a perfect couple, and we never claim to be. What we can say is this: we love Jesus, we love each other, we love the church, and we are committed to growth, humility, and doing the work marriage requires.
That commitment is what led us to start To Have and To Hold Marriage Workshops. We believe marriage can be joyful, meaningful, and deeply rewarding, even in the middle of stress, seasons of change, and everyday life. We want to help other couples experience the same hope and encouragement we continue to experience ourselves.

Alex has a BMin from Harding University, an MBS from Bear Valley Bible Institute, an MDiv from Amridge University, and is currently in the Doctor of Ministry program at Harding School of Theology in Searcy, AR. Alex has served the Lord’s church for over 20 years, including almost ten years as a minister at the North Heights Church of Christ in Batesville, AR, and is a highly effective communicator of God’s Word.
Kira has a BBA from Harding University and an MBA from the University of Central Arkansas. She is a Certified Public Accountant and is currently pursuing her MBS at Bear Valley Bible Institute. Kira has worked for nine years for the State of Arkansas as a Legislative Auditor. She serves the Lord’s church as a highly effective Bible class teacher, works in ladies’ programs, and does whatever else needs to be done as ministry requires.
Alex and Kira have two wonderful Christian teenage children, Rachel and Walter. They are good kids who are learning to serve the Lord in their own ways, too.
