Today is another day!

I’ve heard this said all week, and now I’ve caught myself saying it. It might seem to us to be a redundant phrase that has no real information in it, but I have been thinking about the wisdom and potential that this phrase can communicate if I tell myself every day.” Today is another day.  Here in Ghana, we’ve been getting up every day and working hard for the kingdom unsure of the challenges ahead. But “today is another day.” We get up and work. Why? Because today is another day. Another day to serve the Lord.

God has blessed Jim and me while here in Ghana. We have been encouraged by the brethren because they are highly intelligent and diligent Bible students and realize the value of taking one day at a time to do God’s work. Today is another day to talk to someone else about Jesus. Today is another day to encourage people to restore themselves back to the Lord. Today is another day to snatch people out of denominationalism and bring them the full knowledge of the truth. Today is another day to get up and serve the Lord.

Last night, I had 49 preachers/leaders in my class learning how to preach expository sermons. What a blessing that was. They are eager to learn how to preach better sermons that are focused on exposing the text of the Scriptures and what they mean to us as Christians today. This is biblical preaching at its finest and exactly what the people of Ghana want and need. We are the same brothers and sisters. We need Biblical expository preaching filled with the text of the Scriptures because today is another day filled with challenges and opportunities to serve the Lord and His Kingdom. As you are reading this, you probably think how wonderful it is for these people to learn these things. But, if the opportunity was given to preachers and leaders in our church, communities, and country, would they take it? Do you see the value in learning how to preach better the saving message of Jesus from the Scriptures? I hope you do, and I hope you are motivated to preach and lead God’s people because today is another day to serve the Lord.

Last night Jim had around 120, maybe more, in his personal evangelism class. His class is designed to show people how to study the bible with their family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, and schoolmates (Anyone you know). What an encouragement. As you are reading this, you are probably thinking how wonderful these people have this opportunity to learn these things. But if the opportunity was given to you to learn how to be better at talking to people about Jesus, would you take it? Do you see the value in learning strategies in evangelism? I hope you do, and I hope you are motivated to teach the lost because today is another day to serve the Lord.

Today is another day!

I love you,

Alex Mills
