Tonight brings us our final opportunity to enjoy VBS in 2025. Tonight will be our final round of singing, our final snacks, our final look at the incredible classroom decorations, and our final class. For our final lesson, I’m teaching on the Great Commission. Technically, the lesson is entitled “God, a Savior,” but the way I’m going to go about the lesson is by considering the declaration of the Gospel: Salvation has been brought down. How do you know? It happened 2,000 years ago. It happened on the other side of the world. How do you know Jesus died and rose again?
You know it because someone taught it to you. You know it because the Bible tells you. You know it because the truth of Jesus death, burial, and resurrection did not stay contained within the conversations of a dozen disciples. The word spread to a city, then to a region, then to a hemisphere, until—now—it touches the ears of willing listeners all around the world. Salvation HAS been brought down…
Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
(Acts 2:36)
Let’s examine that, tonight.
See you then!
