I have two choices in front of me:
Option-A: I can complain (which comes SO naturally) and grumble about how we’ve already had our big snow for the year, last month, thank you very much, and there’s no need for another. All it does is disrupt my plans and slow down my life.
Option-B: I can give thanks (which I really need to work on doing more frequently) and rejoice that the beauty of last month’s snow has returned to be admired once again, thank You very much, and it’s always good to be reminded that a clean blanketing of snow is an allegory for our salvation (Isaiah 1:18). As for my plans and my busy life… I could probably do with a good reminder that I’m supposed to be devoted to the will of God (His plans, not mine), and if I’m being honest with myself, my life is probably a bit too busy, anyway. I could use for some forced downtime.
Option-A is going to be very tempting come tomorrow morning, but I hope I’ll wake up with an Option-B kind of perspective. That’s my prayer.
Make it yours, too.
