Why do we do what we do?

There is so much time, energy and hard work put into the Polar Express. It is well worth it, too! But still it might be good to remind ourselves as busy as we are why we do what we do when it comes to the NHCOC Polar Express. Why go to that much trouble? Well here is a quick list I came up with:

  1. We love to have fun and there is nothing wrong with good clean fun. We love to laugh, HA HA HA HA!!! We love to smile and we we love to see the smile on other people’s faces, too. We love to show our kids, our church, our community that we are a fun loving group of Christians that know how to have a good time. And if that encourages to others to want to be with us and have fun too, so be it.
  2. We love to be together for times of fellowship. We love to spend quality time together and we want others to join in and enjoy this time together, too. There has been too much time that we are not together lately and we want and need to find ways to safely be together. Things are different and crazy but we have to adapt and be together anyway. If people are finding ways to adapt to gather for basketball, volleyball, football games, and chess tournaments, then we can adapt too and be together. And if that encourages others to be together, so be it.
  3. We love to work together for the common purpose of unity. VBS, Summit YouthRally, Ladies Brunch, Men’s Breakfast, and Polar Express all have at least one thing in common, unity. We work so well in unity together to accomplish the goal. There is something special about our Polar Express work nights when we are cutting, glueing, and hanging lights and decorations together. We have a vision and we work together in unity to make that vision become a reality. We hope that you and and the community sees what we have in common and how much we enjoy unity. That is what being in a COMM UNITY is all about. And if that encourages others to be a part of our community, so be it.
  4. We love to save souls. It’s real easy to ask. How does NHCOC Polar Express save souls. When people come to polar express, not only do they have fun, see our smiles, hear our laughing, make a craft, eat a cookie, they also get to talk to the ministers and anyone else who is thinking SOULS that night. You see the real reason we do what we do is because we want the opportunity to save souls. We communicate, we love, we give them the message about Christ and His gospel. And if that encourages others to obey the gospel, then so be it.

It comes down to this, we do what we do because we love. We love fun, fellowship, people and souls.

Please invite your family, friends, and neighbors to join you for the NHCOC POLAR EXPRESS.

I love you,

Alex
